Messing around with some mixed media storyboards. Hand drawn, watercolor paint, Adobe illustrator/ Photoshop. Tron Legacy inspired shots. See more of my art work on my official website: http://bridgetshaw.weebly.com/
The Amazing Spider-Man (film) was horrible but only if you are a Spider-Man fan. There might be a total of 3-5 minutes that I enjoyed.
Now on to TASM2. The fact that they didn’t immediately reboot the franchise again is bad. We’ll have to live with this awful cinematic Spidey universe for at least a few more years. So far the casting for the sequel has been horrible. Then they released the pic of Spider-Man’s new suit that looks surprisingly pretty great. I like the big eyes, the bigger spider symbol and the brighter blues and reds. The one thing that bummed me out about Raimi’s suit was the color of the stitching which was more silver/metalic. The rest of it was great. The thing that bummed me about TASM suit is that it he looked like a basketball…oh and that the Peter Parker that was written for the film didn’t deserve to wear it.

So alright, suit has been improved. Kind of cool but who cares.
And then this happened.
Mary Jane WHAT!

At least she has red hair. Sort of.
I just lost interest in even writing about this.
Real quick. Part of what made Peter and MJ’s relationship interesting in the beginning (the real beginning) was that Parker was an average looking bookwork and MJ was more or less a party girl and model that falls for him…

…annnnnnnnnd my ADD kicked in. Hopefully you can connect the dots.
P.S - Emma Stone as Gwen is probably the only good thing about this franchise.
Part of me feels odd writing about this cosplay since it’s part prom dress but it’s pretty fucking bad ass and so well done. Heart shaped Identity Disk? I mean c’mon…

(My initial post was entirely too long and full of who gives a fuck material. I cut down a lot)
I went a little list crazy. So, along with my 10 favorite films I have also included a list of my least favorite films and a look at the films I most look forward to seeing in 2013.
A quick note - My top 10 is a list of my favorite films and not necessarily what I think are the best films of 2012 cause what does that really mean anyway? And the list varies day to day….
Also, here are the films I was interested in seeing but unfortunately missed or didn’t have the time to see; Holy Motors, Smashed, Perks of Being A Wallflower, Flight, The Hobbit, Zero Dark Thirty.

TOP 15 FILMS I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2013 (In Alphabetical Order…except #1)
1. The World’s End

Finally, the last installment in the Three Flavours Cornetto (or Blood and Ice Cream) trilogy. I’m a huge fan of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Also, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World is one of my favorite films. So it’s safe to say this is my most anticipated movie of next year. Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Forst can do no wrong. The only downside is the UK release date is a full two months prior to the U.S. October can’t get here soon enough.
2. Elysium

Kept under wraps or I haven’t been digging enough but Niel Blomkamp’s District 9 was one of my favorite films if not my favorite film of 2009 and I’m betting his follow up will not disappoint.
3. Evil Dead

I saw the R Band Trailer and it didn’t look awful. In fact, it looked great. I have a sneaky suspicion it might turn out to be something special.
4. Gangster Squad

Looks equal parts quality and blockbuster fun.
5. Iron Man 3

Does this need an explanation? Aside from being a fan of Iron Man, I’m a huge fan of Shane Black (writer/director.) I love Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and his writing always appealed to me (Lethal Weapon, The Last Boyscout, The Long Kiss Goodnight.) Very excited to see what he has in store and it certainly looks better than Iron Man 2. Avengers is a tough act to follow though…
6. Kick Ass 2

Loved the first film. Unfortunately Matthew Vaughn isn’t back because he’s been busy dropping out of other films but the rest of the team is. PLUS they have Jim Carrey. They removed their sub-title “Balls to the Walls” but hopefully the movie continues to be so.
7. Malavita

Luc Besson back to American cinema with Robert De Niro and Michelle Pheiffer? I’m there.
8. Man of Steel

Huge fan of Zack Snyder. Still not sure what the deal is with this movie and how much influence Christopher Nolan has had but I’m always excited to see what Snyder is doing.
9. Oblivion

I’m in because of Joseph Kosinski (writer/director of Tron: Legacy.) We’ll see.
10. Only God Forgives

Director Nicholas Winding Refn and Ryan Gosling reunite after giving us 2011’s Drive.
A short clip was just released and reassured me.
You can watch clip here…

11. Oz: The Great and Powerful

Sam Raimi proved to us with the Spider-Man trilogy that he himself is indeed a wizard.
12. Pacific Rim

Guillermo Del Toro. Monsters vs Robots.
13. Sin City: A Dame To Kill For

Could very well be more of the same. In this case, I wouldn’t have a problem with that.
14. Stoker

Chan-wook Park’s Oldboy is one of my favorites. I’m excited to see what he’s got up his sleeve for his first North American outing.
15. Thor: The Dark World

Another no brainer. Story sounds better this go around and…whatever man, it’s a fucking Marvel film. Let’s get Phase 2 moving!
That’s all.
I drew this really quick, but I wanted to get this out there. Merry Christmas! And don’t forget to close your Loop!
A Christmas LOOPER
Here is a clip from my most recent San Diego Comic Con trip. Full video still in the works.
And here is a link to the video of my 2010 trip. (2011 video is weird and currently not online)
Dead Space’s Isaac Clarke (Exclusive) Statue from Sideshow Collectibles
Ordered this back in January and it just came in a week or so ago. Just in time for Halloween.
The exclusive version was limited to 500 pieces and sold out quick. This version includes a switch out right hand with ripper saw for an alternate display. Both regular and exclusive versions include the light up helmet component. The statue is 16 inches tall.
Isaac looks fantastic but the addition of the dismantled necromorph corpse on the base pretty much seals the deal for this being one of my favorite pieces.
